Hello -
My husband and I currently have 4 PDL between us. Ive read through the forums and know the steps we need to take to get this mess cleared up

My question is has anyone had any luck not closing your bank account?

I work for a small company and Im ashamed to tell my office manager i have to close my account.

Also when you do a "hard debit block" would we be able to use our debit card to withdraw cash or pay for things? what about writing checks?

Here are the payday loans we have

Sigma Solutions - $200
Insight Solutions - $300
Plain Green Loans - $800
Plain Green Loans - $600 (my husbands)

Thank you for your help in this

Payday lending is prohibited in the state of New Jersey. You should contact your payday lenders and pay them only the principal amount and nothing else. They won't be able to come after you for any kind of interest charges or fees.

You can contact your bank manager and discuss your situation with him/her and I'm sure he/she will help you in closing your bank account. If your account is placed on "deposit only" status, then you can receive credits but no debits. You should speak to your bank manager regarding your specific needs and he/she will help you know which type of "block" will be best suited for you.

I am from NJ too and I used the template and went and talked to my bank and the HR representative at my job! Don't be ashamed everyone may fall short at some point in their life and feel they need help and we don't know that these companies are hurting more than helping. I love this site it has empowered me and allowed me to empower my girlfriend and my sister!! There is a few templates to go by but when you file your complaints with the BBB, FTC and AG just be honest you were in a bind and fell on hard times you wer eunaware that lending in NJ was prohibited and these lenders preyed on your desperate situation. Them lending to you is fraudulent activity so stop it!!! Close your bank account! I went to my bank and explained to them what happened and I let them know I filed complaints against the illegal lenders and they put a deposit only status on my account until my job made the change and then the account was closed!

Good Luck keep us posted!
