Can you ask for refunds on previous loans with a pdl co?

Hello all,
I just want to say that I have been learning so much from these boards...it's amazing.
I am currently drafting up C & D letters. I have not been requesting a refund on any overpayments, but simply asking them to cancel the loan and issue a PIF letter. But in explaining to the companies that I have, in fact, overpaid, is it okay for me to include the illegal fees that I paid with previous loans with a certain company?
For example:
Let's say I have had two pdl with a company. I paid the first one off ($975.00 in fees and $300.00 principle) and currently owe on the second. Can I explain in my letter that I would like them to cancel the loan that I still actively owe on because I paid $975.00 in illegal fees on the first loan? I figure they might be more willing to agree if they know I'm not asking for them to pay be back anything?
What do you guys think?

You can ask for anything. Will they agree to it? That is a different story. If I were you, I would do just as you described above.
