I was stupid and took out 3 internet payday loans.

1. Cash in a Wink: $300 - already paid $290 which included $50 toward principal so still owe $250
2. Cash Yes: $525 - paid $131.25 on this loan
3. Cash NetUSA: $600 - paid 713.19 on this loan, am paying $165.63 in 4 payments with no extra fees, already made 1 payment - this is CSO loan

CastNetUSA has agreed to payments. Cash in a Wink refused payment arrangements. I offered 4 payments of $81.25 with no added fees, but they would not waive any fees. I haven't approached Cash Yes yet. I plan to close my checking account. I gave my brother's number as a reference to Cash in a Wink and I'm afraid if I default they will start calling him even though they can get in touch with me. They told me I had to default before they would accept payment arrangements. What else can I do?

CashnetUSA is your only legal lender. You've already set up an extended payment plan with them so you're set there.

The other 2 are not licensed to lend to Ohio residents. They are not legal.

You should only repay the principal balance of the loan. No interest or fees are payable.

You only owe Cash in a Wink $10.
You only owe CashYes $393.75.

First, close your checking account and open up a new one. Then call CNU and tell them you had to close your account due to some fraudulent charges and that you can't open a new one. They should allow you to pay via a pre-paid debit card or alternate means.

Second, file complaints against CY and CIAW with the Ohio Attorney General's office and the FTC.

Finally, send emails to each of the illegal lenders explaining the situation. Include language that revokes both ACH debit authorization and wage assignment authorization. You can find sample letters here. No need to waste money with certified mail, email is fine. Print 2 copies of each email and give one of each to your employer. Keep the other 2 for yourself.

So I sent the letters via email on 9/12 and have heard nothing yet. No acknowledgement that they received them. My guess is that they attempted to debit my closed bank account. I filed complaints with the AG. Should I send these letters again or just wait for them to contact me? Thanks.

Okay CIAW says they never received my letter even though I sent it about 3 times. Said they will continue to call and threatened my wages, assets, etc. Said they were legal in Ohio. I can't find any license for them and they refused to send me proof. Wanted to know the name of my attorney and if I paid a retainer. What do I do now? I work at home so calling my home is calling my work. I work remotely for a company in California. Will they call them? Will they call my references? What good is the letter if they're just going to ignore it? I have already reported them to the AG and BBB also. What a mess.
