does anyone know of a good, reliable, and trustworthy payday loan consolidation program?

Most consolidation companies will not deal with payday lenders! You can do it yourself! Just list the loans you have, how much you borrowed from each, how much you have paid each one so far and, of course, who they are! Also what state are you in and are they storefront or internet? Someone will help you get through this!

Well, both me and my husband owe loans in TX. He has a total of 5 pdl and I have 3pdl. I have estimated that combined we owe $3000. It has been hard to pay them since he is the only one working and I am pregnant. I was considering a consolidation program, but from what I've read they are worse.

Husbands PDL's

Cash Store (storefront): $470.00- only made 1 payment
EZMoney (storefront): $510.00- no payments made
ACE Cash Express (storefront): $540.00- no payments made
Check N' Go (storefront): $580.00-owes $360.00 after making 1 payment of $300.00
First Cash Advance (storefront): $350.00-they are settling for $44.00

My PDL's

Cash Store (storefront): $100.00-made 2 payments of $30.00 but now owe $140.00
Advance America (storefront): $280.00-no payments made
ACE Cash Express (storefront): $415.00-no payments made

Also, my husband has already received calls from people stating that they will file criminal charges for writing a hot check and issue a warrant for his arrest. He had to close his account because some of the fees he was being charged due to the returned checks.

don't worry, you'll find a solution here in the Forum just stick around. I have loans with these companies too in TX my oldest one is EZ loans. after a year, they were going to serve me but I made payment arrangements with them and they released the charges, of course you won't go to jail because debt is a civil matter, if they do send you to court, you will explain what happened to the judge and he will assign someone to help you with repayment plan you can afford. as long as you don't ignore them, block cehcks on purpose, and take all their calls, you will be good. don't worry I'm in your shoes right now, and thanks to this Forum I've received some hope!good luck!

Actually you can be brought up on criminal charges for check fraud (i.e. check falsification, intentionally bouncing numerous checks, etc..) This is usually governed by your State's Criminal Code Laws, so please do not get this confused. You can read HERE for more information. Quote:

Now since these are all storefront loans they can pursue civil action as they are deferred deposit loans and legal. As for the hot check accusation, did you close your bank accounts before the first payment was made on either of these loans. A little more information will help us provide better feed back. In the mean time I would keep in contact with these companies and see if they offer a payment arrangement of some sort. Consolidating these loans with a company may be more expensive than just settling them on your own.

Ok, well all you need to do is get statements from the bank stating the accounts was closed due to overdraft activity. Try to contact the companies and see if they will work with you on repayment options. Speak with a store manager if possible, be honest and let them know what you can afford to repay and when, they may offer you something reasonable. Best of luck to you!!
