I too had a loan with Loan Shop. I was only paying the renewal fee and never got the balance paid down. I sat down 2 days ago and figured up exactly how much I had paid them and sent them a letter via e-mail revoking ACH withdrawals. I found the letter on a thread on thi site. I stated that I knew they were illegal in my state and that I requested my account be listed as paid in full. I also requested a refund (which I probably will never see). Within 2 hours I had a response stating that I was no longer responible and it was now closed.
