I took out a loan of $300 with Impact Cash and have paid $270 in rollover payments.

I live in Ohio and they are not licensed in the state. Because of issues with PDL's at the beginning of the year, my checking account was closed and attempted withdrawals were returned.

Needless to say they consider the account in default. I have informed them that they are not licensed in the state and that they were doing business illegally. I offered to pay the remaining $120. Which is allowing for the $90 finance fee they charge which is $45 over what is requested in the state.

They continue to send emails stating that the account is in default, but have never acknowledged my emails offering to pay.

What recourse do I have in this matter?

Thanks.

Considering you live in Ohio and rollovers/extensions are not allowed, you've paid all but $30 towards the principle. They've been charging you illegal fees. The recourse you have in this is to file complaints with the BBB, the FTC, and your state AG. You can then email the idiots again and tell them that you have paid all but $30 towards the principle of your loan and to give you an address to mail the $30 to. You need to keep sending them emails. You need documentation of everything for your complaints. Do everything in writing. Sometimes you have to send 100 emails before some pdls respond. Send one every single day if you have to. In the meantime, tell them you are only going to pay the remaining $30 towards the principle, as they have been breaking the law. If they don't respond to you, so be it. They can no longer get your money. Just make sure you file your complaints with the agencies.
