I reported Gfs to the BBB and in less them 24 hours i got a response from GFS giving me a settlement to pay 200.00 but i've already paid them 1000 on a 200.00 loan. The email that they sent said they would stop calling me at work and at home. They wouldnt contact me any more. Should I pay them or just consider my account closed?

If they want you to pay them $200.00, then they do NOT consider the loan closed, and they will hound you some how, some way by either turning it over to a Collection agency, taking you to court, or harrassing you until you want to scream. You have WAY over paid them, I would push for a refund, AND a paid in full letter, from them, until you receive a Paid in full notice from them, the account will remain open. Is this an Internet or store front loan? What state are you in? What other steps have you taken to protect yourself in this matter? Do they have access to your bank account? If they do, you need to send them a letter to revoke their right to debit your account, any wage assignments, etc., then promptly CLOSE your account and reopen a new one at another bank.

GFS is not going to take anyone to court. They are so illegal, it's pathetic. An illegal overseas company. You have paid them $1000 on a $200 loan. You have overpaid by $800. Them telling you through the BBB to pay ANOTHER $200 would then have you paying $1200 on a $200 loan. HELLO! No. Do not accept the settlement. No. Do not send these jerk-offs another penny. Reply to the BBB that you will NOT accept this so-called settlement from GFS, since you have already paid $1,000 to this illegal company. Make sure GFS does NOT have access to your account any longer. As you can see, they will debit you way into the thousands and then claim that you still owe more. No.
