Hi Tandy. Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, I have yet to see a good reputable pdl. What is your situation and maybe we can all brainstorm to help you come up with an alternative solution. I'm sure there is something else out there for you. Trust me, getting involved with a pdl is a move that you probably will not benefit from unless you can pay them back immediately. It is just too easy to get caught in the cycle.

Tandy, Please believe me, Pay day loans cause more problems than they are worth. These problems affect every part of your life. I have been there , and I know this first hand. Nothing is safe from these people. Read some of the threads, See the horrors that members have gone thru. Please do not ever take out a pay day loan. The trouble and heartache these cause outweigh any good they can do. Thye dont do any good. There is NO good PDL company . They are thieves that prey on innocent people. I dont want to sound mean, but I guarantee that if you take out a loan from them you will be back here asking for help on how to stop the nightmare. Any paycheck you may get will never be yours. They take everything. Do not Do It
Please, please listen. Kash is right. They WILL bleed you dry.

ok..well I have come across your site (maybe from the man above!!) Cause I ALREADY have a loan w/ThinkCash...after I started really looking at what this loan is goin to cost me (i have been paying extra though) I thought...ok...well maybe I could get 2 smaller payday loans or somthing like that to pay this one off cause it's about $96 each payday (every 2 weeks) I feel comfortable tellin you all this as I said, been reading off this site for few days now. So prob not good idea then??... =(
Very bad idea. You have done what we all have done in the past.
Very bad idea. You have done what we all have done in the past. One loan or two to pay off another loan. It is a vicious cycle. Please stop before you dig your self in any deeper. If we can help let us know. What state are you in?

Is thinkcash.com an installment loan site? If it is, and even if it has a high rate of interest, you might want to just stick it out and keep paying extra. You will at least get to an end with them. Pdls have no end, it seems.

I am in Missouri....My boyfriend told me he would of loaned me the $$ for what I needed it for, but me and my "independant" attitude of I don't need a man to help me!!!! Now I feel like crawlin back on my hands/knees to ask him to help me pay that back. Cause even when I pay extra, it don't take my payments down to lower amount just makes a month or two less at the end of loan, but the whole monthly amount am payin them is just gettin to me more than what thought it would.

Oh no. I'm sorry, Tandy. You know, it probably wouldn't be so bad to get some help from your boyfriend or a family member with this. Maybe you can come up with a reasonable payback amount with someone who can help you get out of this. I think it is terrible that they will not apply the extra to the principal. That is just their greedy way to get more money out of you.

Don't feel bad, I am married to someone like that  . Even though you hate to crawl back it will be a benefit to you in the end to get out of that vicious cycle.
Take it from someone who has been there and done that.

I have to echo what everyone else has said - stay away from PDL's if at all possible. Even the "legal" ones are a bad deal - loan sharking in disguise, basically.
And the installment loan companies (CashCall, CheckNGo, etc.) are worse - because they are backed by a bank and can get away with charging outrageous interest rates and will hound you mercilessly if you are late.

If you lived in FL I would recommend Amscot Financial. I got into a bind, and they are a fully licensed store front.
They charge 10$/100$ and there is a 1$. They don't share your info and you have to pay it back on the next payday.
Its not a good plan, but for the pinch I was in, it worked for me.
Good Luck!

Eleroo =) Thank you for this information....I think I am just gonna contact this Mr Joe Crider and just to see if this company is on the up/up I am not sayin they aren't...Is my own fault for even jumping into this loan without really paying attention to details/costs/etc....But gosh, it was so darn easy to get and guess thats the "bad" thing!! But again thank you for your time and information Division of Finance for me =)

Tandy, if you have already over paid these people, why in the world would you want to pay them anymore?
You need to give us the info and we can then deermine what is best for you. Although Eleroos advice is good, not knowing all the facts makes it hard to determine exactkly what is best

Kashzan..no, I haven't taken out anymore loans, that's why I started the topic was maybe to see if there was any other loan type companies that might be better (like on interest, smaller repayment amounts, etc is what was hoping) but don't think that is good idea, when all these people are sayin to don't do it. Just thought maybe I am paying too high of interest and if I got another loan somewhere to pay this one off would be cheaper for me

I'm not sure if they will work out a payment plan..basically that's what their installment loan is from what I can tell. I haven't defaulted on my loan with them so I'm not sure how much they are willing to work with tandy. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

Swallow your pride (and I don't mean that rudely) and borrow the money from your boyfriend. You can always pay him back an extra payment for interest if it makes you feel better. I did the same thing took out one loan to pay another until I had 8 of them. It is a vicious cycle. It is best to get out before you get in too deep.

Ya know these payday loan people aren't any better than the scammers handing out ARM loans/mortgages. To tell you the truth that's how I ended up in this whole damn mess to begin with. It's just infuriating that these people bank on "life" happening. That's why I am so thankful that I found this sight..at least I get some peace of mind knowing I'm not the only one out there who has these exact problems & is walking around with negative bank accounts..so on & so forth. Thanks to everyone on this site for the peace I've been given and the power you've brought back to my life. This whole mess didn't happen overnight & it won't get fixed overnight...baby steps is how it works. Love you guys!!!
