I've been reading all of the related posts to my problem and they're all so helpful. I'm working on my letters to send to the PDL companies that I'm dealing with, listing what I've paid them and over paid. The research so far shows the following aren't licensed in CA. I just wanted to verify if I'm correct.....?? And what others have experienced after sending letters to these companies....

Plain Green Loans
Advance me today
United Cash Loans
Mass Street Group
Loan Shop Online
MultiLoan source/AALM Consulting Services

Thank you!

I started down this road last October with several lenders.
The Loan Shop online was very easy to deal with, they even re-imbursed me for the illegal fees I had paid.

Advancemetoday.com has been issued a D&R from the department of Corporations in CA. I have been pressing them for a PIF letter and they do not budge.

Plain Green sent me to collectins because they weren't willing to work with me...

Send out all your notices close your back account and file all your complaints. :p

Good luck

Here's one of the responses I received today. How do I respond? What do I do next???

We respect a consumer who researches the services to which he/she uses. With that being said when you applied for and agreed to the terms of the loan, it would have behooved you to read the complete contract you agreed to with Mass Street Group. You are a citizen of California, however the contract was not made in California. The contract was completed via the world wide web, the governing law (clearly outlined in your contract) which you agreed to by your legal e-signature are the laws of the jurisdiction in which the lender is located.

We would be willing to settle with you for the principle amount remaining on your account. We could initiate the debit to your account of $250 on your next due date of 5/11/2012. If making one payment to payoff the principle isn???t possible for you, then another payoff arrangement may be available. Please call to let us know how you would like to proceed and ask for me directly. If I am not available, then please request a supervisor. You can also have the debits stopped on your account by placing a stop payment on our debit. This will result in your being sold to outside collections.

So as of today I've received an email from Plain Green loans stating that my loan is paid in full.. No mention of the overpayment, of course.

Advance me today I haven't heard anything from until today, I received a phone call from their Investigations unit and he wants to discuss a voluntary solution to this and talk to me since I questioned the legality of his company. I haven't called him back........should I??

Mass street group keeps sending me emails wanting to resolve this but I've overpaid and they want more $$. I haven't responded back to them yet.

I haven't heard from the other companies yet. Any other advice??

Well I still haven't received anything from any of the other companies except Mass street group. They had a company call me to serve me and take me to court. So I called and agreed to only pay the principle amt eventhough I already overpaid them. This has become a nightmare with them!
