How do you revoke authorization for these companies to continue debiting your account?

You should write a letter to revoke debit authorization and inform the creditors/collection agencies about it. But before doing so, you can put a hard debit block on your account. If they get a letter revoking the debit authorization, they will immediately go into your account and try to take away whatever you've have in the account.
