I sent out faxes to all of the companies I have loans with basically revoking my ACH debit and all wage assignements along with telling them they that I had over paid. I got a call back from One Step Cash asking what the letter was about. I said it was pretty self explanatory. She said they would continue to debit until the loan was paid in full and there was nothing I can do to stop them.

I wish I didn't have a negative balance in my checking account or I would close it today. *sigh* How I ever got myself into this mess I don't know.

You arent alone...im in the same situation. my account had a negative balance and they froze it. No charges can be made to it. I got a loan from family and am going to pay the bank what i owe and completely close the account. The payday loans i deal with have informed me that if my bank account is closed or frozen then my account with them will go straight to collections. Im not even allowed to mail in payments unless it is in collections. Im not worried about it though. My main worry is to get my bank straightened out, closed and go to a different bank and get a new account.

I wish they would freeze it. It would at least keep these idiots from charging me more. I at least have stopped my direct deposits going into that account so will be able to get a handle on my own money now. Even if I have to go with money orders to pay things for a while it is better than this hell.

when my bank account starting getting too crazy, i went to the bank and talked to them. They worked with me on it and agreed to freeze the account and also stopped charging me overdraft. They will usually even work a payment plan with you. Its worth a try. I would take copies of the letter you sent the companies to the bank.

You need to file complaints with the BBB, your states Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission. Talk to your bank and tell them you sent out letters revoking their authorization to debit your account, give them a copy of the letter if you have one. You do have the right to tell these PDL's to stop, of course most of them won't listen, that is why you need to file complaints. Even though your account is negative, your bank may still block their debits if you explain your situation to them.

Thanks so much. I think I will try that tomorrow. I tried getting the pending payments stopped so I wouldn't be in overdraft but they said they could not since they were already pending. I'll go into the bank physically tomorrow and see what I can get worked out.
