Today my Hr secretary gave me a fax from Ross law firm out of utah, requesting verification of my employment with the intent to garnish my wages. I live in TX and this is in reference to an online PAY DAY LOAN from two years ago. Can this be done?

Not in Texas . . . no garnishments allowed. Even if you lived in a garnishment state the "Ross Law Firm" doesn't have the power to order a garnishment. Only a judge can do that and then only after the company won a judgment against you.
Just another desperate payday loan collector trying to rattle your cage by getting your work involved. The idea is to scare you into paying him so he can chalk one more up on the board and get his Christmas bonus.
