Threatening court

I had a PDL with Sandpoint in 2008. I sent them a cease and assist letter. I have had 3 collection companies call me informing me they will show up at my home or job or they will proceed with paperwork. I found out in 2008 that they are illegal in SC. I sent them an email, I saved it, asking them to cease and assist. The second collection company would not tell me who they represented at first until I pressed. When I explained they were not legal and I had overpaid them, they said they would see me in court. Now they have given this over to another collection agency who is calling my cell, home, and work. How can I make these guys stop? Can they show up or send me papers? I know the law in SC state no criminal action,but what about civil?

Send C&D's to the collection agencies....tell them to pound sand and bug off.
