What is a dunning letter? Are PDL's legal in NY?

They sent me a COPY of a demand letter via email. The loan originated on 1/19/12 with PayDayLoan3 (I've never heard of it).

What do I do now? Send them the copy of my statement for that period to prove that I never received this loan?

Yes I did (two companies) and they are current. I contacted them when I got the call from the law firm. They said it probably happened when I went online to a website at some point to find a company sign up with. They said as long as they do not see a record of a $500 deposit for the period in question it can be closed and they will notify the lender.

Thank you for your help.

The lenders can't do anything to you. They can't take legal steps against you. Just pay back the principal amount. You're not accountable for the interests or fees. Close your bank account if possible. Ask for a refund if the principal amount has already been paid.
