i have had people call my job stating they are serving me with court papers for a 200 dollar loan if I don't pay the 200 plus interest total 350, I will have to pay 1400 for court cost and the loan for writing fraudulent checks. I have never written them a check. I had to close the account due to another lender depositing money into that account without my authorization, when I reversed that deposit I closed the account. I am now in a program where they pay my loans off and they are still harassing me.

Who are they? What state do you live in? What is the name of the pdl company? Is your lender licensed in your state? Please give us information with details.

Debts are civil, not criminal. Nothing will happen to you. You state a program where they pay your loans off. You can handle the payday lenders yourself and save yourself money. Answer the questions, and we can help you further.

This is a tactic used by low feeding scum.

The first rule in serving someone papers, is not to call and tell them that they are going to be served. The fact that they said that they can make these legal problems by simply giving them money should always tip you off that it is a scam.

I have a received a call from some of these companies, who buy your information from other PDL companies that you may have had loans with, and have made the same threats, I have fun with them, and told them exactly where I would be to "serve me with papers", then inform them of how the civil process works in the US. Needless to say I have yet to be served.
