Settlement Possible With Cashcall in California?
Date: Tue, 05/01/2012 - 14:01
Has anyone here had any success with making late payments or perhaps settling on your loan with Cashcall? I have been dealing with them since March 5, 2010 (original loan amount $2,525.00 with monthly payments of $298.94. At last count, my balance was $2,059 and some change).
Due to financial hardship(s), I missed two payments and explained to them what it is I am going through. Of course, they want their money but as I have mentioned to them, if I don't have it, I can't get it to them. I see that in California, Cashcall is licensed.

I emailed them a cease and desist letter but will probably have to fax another one since I am still receiving calls.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. As I said, I am in a financial hardship, have explained this to them, and despite my history of making payments with them, this does not count for anything (no surprise).
Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my email and thank you for any assistance that you can provide me with.

The problem with CashCall is that it is backed by a bank. Moreover, given the amount that you borrowed, this is not a payday loan. You can take a shot at settling the account and if you are lucky, you might get a settlement. Beware, CashCall is aggressive and can potentially sue you.
