Hello all, has anyone tried settling their accounts with their pdl companies? I am to that point because I cannot afford to pay a pdl consolidation company and figured the only way to do it is to "settle". I am so far behind on my payments that I don't even know how much I paid into them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Cannr, I have all internet. I have been trying to do this since February (when I joined the forum!) and just have not gotten anywhere. Out of the 10 or so that I have, I think that three of them are not licensed at all. Arrowhead, Geneva and there is one more. Anyhow, they are calling me at work and it has to stop. I already sent the Loanshop Online and Payday Loan Yes the cease letter. I have not heard from them at all, plus they have not emailed me nor tried to call me. I reported an employee from Payday Yes to the PA Attorney General. What would be step one for me?

sky here...

It is not difficult to do yourself. Just a little time out of your day and a closed (hard debit block) checking account. Out of all this, closing my checking account was the most difficult, but only because I was scared and embarrassed to admit my mistake to the bank. When I found out the pdl was illegal in my state, I was afraid I had committed a crime. I didn't know pdl were illegal; I knew NC had kicked storefronts out of the state, but I didn't know pdl, all pdl whether storefront or internet, were prohibited. I think the failure to be licensed is what makes a pdl's operations illegal.

First of all, stop all access by pdls to your money!...that alone will remove an incredible amount of weight from your shoulders. Follow the mods advice...they will not steer your wrong.

Bayley, I have three internet loans and through this forum I have gained the strength to take care if it. As a matter of fact I got an e-mail from Payday cash today that they have marked my account PIF and that they are going to refund me the 505.00 I paid over my 350.00 loan. Look at the ACH Processor Forum it helped me a lot.

"bayley" and the other guests are probably from pdlassistance. I've noticed a lot of "guests" shilling for one settlement company or another. I used to run around recommending T&C and Langhorne to people, but I'm pretty sure those companies do the same thing on other threads so I stopped. They just aren't so blatantly obvious about it.

I contacted Fidelity Reserves to help me with my creditors. The procedure was that money would be put into a reserve fund. And once enough reserve was available then my creditors would be paid, and they would inform each of the creditors I supplied to them. In the meantime, I was receiving numerous calls and letters demanding payment. I wrote several letters to my creditors informing them I had signed on with a debt management program. But nothing was sent out to them. I should have known that something that stated my debt would be taken care of in less than two years was too good to be true.

I even reported them the BBB and got a disturbing call from David Bartlett, from Credit Services stating that once I resended my complaint then and only then would my contract end. Now they are saying that I am only entiltled to a refund of thirty three dollars. I sent them payments of three hundred seventy dollars. I think that all payments should be returned since they failed me. I wish I would have researched this comapny before juming in with both feet. Now I am paying the price, I feel like a victim.

:) i understand 100% I actually first came here to find out more about Langhorne Debt - I picked them because I know where Langhorne is physically located so it seemed safer to me.
But I learned so much and am dealing on my own. I am so glad I am doing it this way, as I do not have extra money.
