With a legal lender in Texas, you can contact them, explain that you are unable to continue with the current payment terms and ask for an alternative payment plan. Of course, make sure to close your account and open a new one before you do anything. You will still owe the principal and interest due on the legal loans (none of the rollover payments you made will count), but it will at least stop the bleeding and freeze the amount so you do not continue to accrue interest and fees. This way all future payments made will go toward actually paying off the debt. Sometimes they will throw you straight into collections rather than setting up an alternative payment plan, this is okay too as it has the same affect. As Soap Lady said, Plain Green is illegal/tribal so follow her instructions. I had grossly overpaid them and they eventually marked the account as PIF, which was fine with me.

Good luck!
