Here's my story: Got my first payday loan back in 2007. Paid it off and thought i'd never need that help again. Fast forward to 2010, newly married, husband out of work, bills piling up-- anyway, excuses aside, for the last 2 years I have been trapped in a death star of PDL's and most recently, an installment loan.
Here's what we're looking at, currently:
LEGAL/Licensed in my state (AL)
1. CashNetUSA: $500 (been paying off and renewing this one for at least 14 months)
2. Speedy Cash: $400
3. Ace Cash Express: $375
4. Check n' go: $2300 installment loan, that I let default as of this morning...I read that was the best way to get them to work on a payment plan with you. I even called them last week to let them know, and they seemed as helpful as you could expect.
ILLEGAL/TRIBAL
1. UCL: $450
2. Ameriloan: $450
(even though I get paid monthly, these jerks debit me like once every 10 days)
I HAVE been able to get a PID letter from La Posta Tribal (d/b/a Gentle Breeze, d/b/a Solomon Finance) just last week, and I'm counting that as my first victory. It was easy and they didn't put up a fight. Another issue now is that Ideal Gelt turned my account over to Alliance Asset Management. I sent Alliance a C&D, since the loan is illegal and I'd paid $2430 on a $500 original loan. They (Alliance) are claiming that Ideal Gelt will take legal action against me, which I don't buy.
My question is this:
Should I revoke ACH on the 2 illegal loans? Should I call all the legal ones and request EPP? CashNetUSA has already told me that they dont do a payment plan unless I default......advice appreciated as I try to finish digging out.

Lets take this from the top:

CashNetUSA is a CSO. You must have called the local office which would explain why they were just BSing you about going into default to set up a payment plan. Here is the thing. All your legal lenders are CSOs and therefore they are bound to offer you a EPP provided that (a) you have not defaulted on the loan yet and (b) you have not asked for an EPP from each of them this year.

Getting the EPPs should solve your problems with the legal lenders. In essence, whatever the current loan balance is, is going to be split up into possibly 4 payments and the interest is going to be frozen.

Yes, you should most definitely revoke ACH authorization for the pair of illegal lenders AFTER which you write to them if you want.

And whatever Alliance is trying to convince you of, I assure you, it is no more than a nice load of crock. Report them to the AG and the FTC.

Update, 24 hours later....

Have made contact with Speedy Cash, they set me up on a 4 payment EPP, no questions asked, just had to fax back a form stating I agreed to the terms.

CashNetUSA corporate is still telling me I have to default on the loan before they will issue an EPP, I told them I know that's not the case, in that my loan is still a week away from being due and I've never asked for an EPP before. I'm going to try again tomorrow and hopefully get a different representative.

Check n' go will only work with me (for now) on the monthly payment that I let default, not my total installment loan balance. I think that's kind of strange....any insight into that?

After emailing a form "you're illegal" letter along with an ACH revocation request, I received the automated "We got your email.... will respond soon" reply from Ameriloan and UCL, but going off of something I read here, I checked my ability to log in and found i'm barred from doing so and seeing any information. This was not the case 48 hours ago. Good news? Bad?
