So, like many others. I took some some payday loans. I am in Connecticut and know they are illegal. I closed my account, took charge of my life and have had pretty good luck making payment arrangements in the principle only. The one giving me a problem is Beachside. They sold my acct to Statewide Mgmt. I got a call from a "process server" yesterday. I was in a bad mood so I called back and spoke to Kaitlin. The number they gave me was 877-343-6421 x406. Of course they doubled the amount I owe, original loan was for $500, now they claim I owe $1200, and they lines of ...do I understand the severity of these charges yada yada yada. I called Beachside and they said they don't collect on their loans like that and cannot set up payment arrangements once an account is sold off. How do I get rid of these idiots? They also call my work place and home number - which I never gave them.


Did you give her your account information? If you did you will need to more than likely shut down that account, if just card info - shut down just the card. If not who cares, they are collecting on illegal debt - send the letter and move on.

I offered to pay Beachside the principle - they said they don't have my account anymore. so..is that like, well, too bad for you - I'm offering to pay and you won't take my money? It was a prepaid card..I can't believe I let her get to me.

That's it? Here is the dumb thing I did..knowing they can't do anything, she was a little intimidating and I told her I would make payment arrangements.

Just an FYI for everyone after doing a little digging, it appears that this company also went by the name Nationwide Adr. The person calling people to "serve" them is Steve Williams. Number they are calling from is 877-343-6421. I actually got them to give me their fax number so I can fax my C & D letter - lol. If anyone needs it, it is 866-577-9446.

Dear CA...

I hereby demand you cease and desist any and all contact with me and anyone associated with me in regards to account # _______. I live in the state of CT and payday loans are prohibited by my state law. Having educated myself on these predatory lenders, I now know the loan paper you are collecting on is null and void.

Govern yourself accordingly.
