Received a Refund from SPD Financial

My husband just got our mail and a large Fed Express evelope arrived with my name on it from SPD Financial Services, LLC. In my certified letter to them I told them that I overpaid them by $870.00 and asked for a refund. Well, in the envelope was a cashier's check from SunTrust Bank for $870. I've never heard of this bank, is the check legit? I'm afraid to put it in the bank. I'm actually quite shocked but from what I found out about SPD is that they are not even licensed to loan money period!!!! Anyone else received a refund from them?

Yehaaaaaaawww!! If I were you, I would go make a copy of the front and back of the check before you cash it, then I would go somewhere other than your bank to cash it, then put the cash into your account. If you're totally uncomfortable about this check, there should be a telephone number or something listed on that check where you can investigate it.
