Does SSM Group Settles?

I have paid $975 to SSM Group on a $250 loan. I have tried to contact them and they haven't responded. I closed my account last week so they couldn't debit it.
My question is, has anyone reached these guys and has anyone got them to settle? I reported them to the FTC and BBB. Does taht work to tell them they have been reported and that all you want is a PIF. (I live in MN and I know they are illegal.)

They don't even do their own collections. They sell everything
They don't even do their own collections. They sell everything to Bahamas Marketing as soon as it goes into default. Bahamas uses those horrible Indian collection agencies that pretend to be FBI agents, curse you out, threaten to take your kids away, etc. No settlements. Just ride out the storm and they'll just go away.
the way i see it, you have morally paid way more than you should
the way i see it, you have morally paid way more than you should have for this loan. they are not legal and cannot do anything to you but uselss threats. i would not even bother to settle, as you have paid way more than you should have. thats just my opinion, though.
