Okay, so I know I have said a million times that Star Cash is harrassing me. they deposited money into an old account, my bank refused it as the account was closed and they are still trying to collect on this.
they call my home, my work, and now my cell. in fact now they are texting me!! i have to pay for my messages and the phone company cannot block them because it shows up as a code not a phone number.. but i know it's them because it tells me to call their number.
can they do this????

no they can't in fact PM skydiver on how to proceed.you can sue them and collect on this.they are not allowed to incur costs to the consumer in the effort to communicate.

thanks, paul.. i was so angry!! i do not even owe them anything and that is just crazy! of course it does not cost much but how often will they try this? i can always change my phone number but i am looking for an extra side job and already gave my current number out on applications!

i don't know, but there is a law or act that prohibits this if it incurs costs to you.skydiver would know that further, but i would look into it.time for someone to pay you for their error.

I receive phone calls/texts also. If I don't recognize the number, I push ignore and don't answer. If the call goes to voice mail, I wait until I have a few voice mails and listen to them all at once so I only get charged 1 minute..... I have trac-fone and don't have unlimited minutes. You can do the same for the texts.

I don't know if they would stop if you called them and told them to stop calling. I would send them 20 e mails a day to stop. Harass them like they're harassing you....

thanks again, i do not mind if they call my cell because i do not get charged for ignoring their calls. but i get charged for the text wheter i read it or not.
they have no physical address, my certified letter got sent back :( but i can email them (from home!), i guess. i might just report them again PM skydiver and ignore them the best i can for now.
thanks everyone :)

if the person saves the texts and has proof though,it makes it more likely.alot of people don't save the texts.therefore there is no proof.

i saved the texts and requested a hard copy of them from my phone company, as well as the running charges. they text me three times already. i doubt this will go anywhere as i cannot even find a physical address for these jerks but i am including this in my updated reports with the attorney general's offices and the FTC. I would not discouarge anyone from doing the same, as this company needs to be stopped.

i think that's what owner was referring to.alot of these places don't use traceable numbers and don't have a real address.too bad, because they can be slammed just like with FDCPA violations.
