I just got a call from 500 Fast Cash saying that I took a loan out and I owe $400. I did take loan out with United cash loans/MTE Financial for $300. I found this site and then I closed my account and started the road to recovery from PDL hell!!

I sent BBB a complaint and I just got an email this morning stating that they forwarded it to MTE and I can check the status online.

I told the chick from 500 Fast cash that I will not discuss this on the phone and only correspond via email or us mail. She said they don't do that and whatever and she wanted my bank phone number so we could confirm the deposit or whatever. She called me at work and I hung up on her.

Now...what do I do??? I haven't paid MTE anything and I do NOT want them harassing me at work. They sent me this "

Help guys!!

Lucy, please be sure you pay them quickly becuase you do not want to ruin your chance of getting another short term loan....are they on medication, just palin stupid or both... Seriously, When they call tell them you are not there and then respond to them in writing. There is not alot you can do short of telling them you no longer work there. I know I take a lot of messages for myself. I write down the date, time, who called and what was said and then fire off an e-mail with this info reiterating I will not accept phone calls. It has worked a little but MTE is evil and ugly and makes up the rules as they go along.

Hi Lucylu. So you didn't actually take a loan out with 500fastcash, but with Unitedcashloans, correct? I actually got the exact same form letter email from Unitedcashloans. I had a loan with both 500 and UCL. My best guess is that since they are from the same parent company that they must have gotten your information mixed up. This could be good for you! Maybe you should call back and speak with a manager to let them know that you don't have a loan with them. I wouldn't tell them that you have one with ucl...just that you don't have one with them.

I have one with United Cash loans..aka MTE Financial. I told the chick that I don't have one with 500 Fast cash and she said your email is ____ and I said yes. She said that I would have signed the documents and then they would've deposited the money..

So I am just going to keep the letter in my MTE Financial/UCL folder in my email.. They have until 10-23 to respond to the BBB..

Thanks guys~

Well unless your billfold is overflowing with money and you justwant to freely give it away (I always take donations), I would wait for the BBB response. If they cannot even keep straight what company they are with....well they are true winners. I have a defaulted loan with 500fast cash. I cannot wait till they start this with me!

Hold on! 500FastCash, United Cash Loans, etc.... All d/b/a's of MTE Financial. Doesn't really matter a flying crap which name they are using. They are trying to confuse you (on purpose). They are MTE. And, no, MTE is not "off shores". MTE is located in Oklahoma. MTE is not licensed/legal. MTE is evil. They will claim that YOU are confused, lucy. You are not. They do this on purpose. Do not respond to them. They will respond to the BBB eventually. And they will claim that "lucy is confused". I swear to God, they will. I have many responses from MTE stating how "confused" I am. Please do not speak with them via telephone. MTE will, I repeat, will communicate via email. I can swear to this fact. You do not have to speak with the via telephone. Whatever you have to do to not talk directly to them, do it. Lie, whatever. Do not talk to them. They are sneaky, lying, scum. They will straight up lie to the BBB. They will not respond to your state AG. They are not licensed to lend anywhere in the United States. Let them send you all the emails they want to. Keep them. Save them. But watch these creeps. They will try to pull a fast one on you the first chance they get. Wait it out until they respond to the BBB to see what they have to say. Do not respond to their "time frame" emails. (Which are all form emails that they send to everyone.) Lord, I've got a computer full of the same friggin emails from them from all their d/b/a's. lucy, don't respond yet. And don't take their calls. Okay? Wait to see what lies they have for the BBB. Then post and we can take it from there.

I have a call into the Oklahoma Department of Consumer Credit (405) 521 3653. Im curious as to OKLA stance on MTE operating under a number of DBA's and also a number of office locations on or in the vacinity of Miami, OK. I will post his response.

Question - in reading past threads; there are a few post from community members who state legal status. Lawyers, para legals. Does anyone know the legal answer to which law (state) are these PDL's suppose to operate under? The state law for their home office or the law for the state in which the consumer resides in?

I apologize. I also have PDL's outstanding with MTE & their dba's. I was using this thread to post my progress with the OK Consumer Credit Dept as all the correspondence Ive recd from the dba's & MTE shows physical address in Miami, OK. If my postings belong on a different thread - would someone please move them for me. I dunno how to do such. Good luck to member in PA !

PA is not the only state like this. There are a few others. However, in the case of MTE Financial, heaven, they are not licensed/legal in their own state, let alone any other state in the United States. MTE Financial and their many, many d/b/a's are not licensed. It doesn't matter what state you are in or they are in. They are not licensed. Period.

Good to know. I wasnt able to find them in OK's licnesee database. I am hoping that the guy @ OK Consumer Credit may be able to point me in the direction that is needed to have OK state investigate MTE and/or their DBA's. I may naive in my approach but I cant imagine the OK state/political machine wants to be associated with unscrupulous business(es) operating from their state lines.

heaven, they have have Cease & Desist orders from other states to stop lending, as they are illegal. The Oklahoma government agencies are well aware of them. However, I am very curious to see what their response is to your inquiry regarding them. They are evil.

Cannr - if nothing else it'll make me feel better! I can not praise this site & its members enough. I used PDL's in the past, always paid back. But life happens. My 1st dealing with a PDL once I defaulted was Bass Assoc. They threatened to have me arrested. I looked over at my 5 yr old & busted out crying. Thanks to your forum I feel empowered and educated!!!! Thank you!

Ok, I just got a call from Summer with 500 Fast Cash and wants me to call her. I emailed them and asked them to send my documents again because I 'lost' them. She left a message saying that I have to give her a call back because they need a written request...

Sneaky devils...lol

Mr. Wade,

We have reviewed the account belonging to Ms. Ulrich. She filed a complaint with our company directly on 10/5/07, the same date that she filed her complaint with your agency. On that date, a response was sent to her offering her a fair settlement. While we believe all the terms and conditions of this loan have been met, we do believe it to be in the best interest of this customer to settle and close the account. We are simply awaiting her response. We will consider this matter closed unless we hear from you.

Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.

Respectfully,

Compliance Department

Ok, so do I respond to the BBB that they have been harassing me with 500 Fast Cash and Westbury? It's like they are trying to get $900 out of me. As you know, I am paying $150 on the 15th and $150 on the 31st. My principal was $300..

I just need some suggestions as to how to respond. I have 10 days to get my response to the BBB.

lucy, here's what you do. (God, I love MTE  ). Reply to the BBB. They will forward your response to MTE. Okay, they said in their response to the BBB that they offered you a "fair settlement". Okay. Fine. Respond to the BBB stating that you will agree to $150 on such&such date and $150 on such&such date for a total payment of $300 (principle balance) and that you will need a PIF statement & they (MTE) agrees not to contact you any further once PIF has been met. Put this in writing. You will have documentation. They will forward your reply to MTE. MTE will respond. This way, you will have your payment arrangement in writing (so MTE can stop messing with you), the BBB will have note of it, etc. Can you do this?

Thank you so much for your help! I am going to do my response now.. I assume I still pay them $150 on the 15th, correct?

If you're able to give them $150 on the 15th, then fine. If you're not, then give a different date. But if you can, let that be the first pmt. Then give the next date for the final pmt. :D

A most interesting post on a different thread re this business:

Hey guys! I just came across this website because 500 FastCash sent an email wanting us to give them our new account info. We closed our bank account after taking out loans with United Cash Loans, 500FastCash, and payday-yes-loans. I found out alot of bad stuff about United Cash Loans and was worried they would take more than they would take more than they should. Which they did! They wrote us and told us to straighten out our account and gave an address of 3531 P Street NW, Miami, OK. I live in Miami, OK and I know that the address is a residence. I wrote them back and told them when I see something legitimate about their address, phone #, etc. I would gladly pay them their money. I have never heard from them again. Now I see 500FastCash has an address in Miami, it happens to be the Modoc Tribe smoke shop. We called and they are not affilliated with 500FastCash. They know nothing about them. If you are reading this for the first time, do nottake out a loan from these people and if you have a loan with them close your account before they take more money from you then their supposed to.

Posted in the last 5 minutes. Its from a guest - pebblesholder.
Look what I found on Google;

http://www.miamination.com/Miamination/cp.htm
The person's name is Julie Olds.

Then I found this posting where MTE was looking to hire someone to design their web sites - notice it reads companys' plural.

My company, Miami Nation Enterprises, is looking for someone to develop our companys' websites. If you are qualified or know of someone of expertise in this department, please let me know.

Thank you

Jeremy Mitchell
Chief Accountant / MTE Internal Auditor
Miami Nation Enterprises
3531 P Street NW
PO Box 1525
Miami, OK 74355
Office: (918)541-2111
Fax: (918)542-3967
JMitchell@mn-e.com

Oh - lookey here - Mr Mitchell's email addy is listed.
'Miami National Enterprises' yet another company of theirs? His title is showing MTE Internal Auditor.

If the reasoning here and the facts are good enough for residents of Maine - it should be good enough for us trapped by them.

Did you catch this paragraph:

Oklahoma credit regulators have also issued a cease and desist order against the company. The lender reportedly claims that it is operated by the Modoc Indian tribe, and is therefore sovereign and exempt from the consumer protection laws of any state.

The credit regulators in Oklahoma have served them with a cease & desist order.

If they plea tribal rights; here's what I am coming back with:

While an Indian tribe may be free to govern activities on its own tribal land, (your state) law deems the activities of (whatever dba)to have occurred in this state (your state). You (the dba) entered into a contract with a resident living within (your state) state????????s borders, and arranged to deduct funds from my bank account here in (your state).
