Has anyone ever had an experience where they stopped a check to a pdl and it went through anyways? I just noticed today that one of the payments to a storefront that I stopped and made payment arrangements on is in my pending file. I am now overdrawn and will be much, much more when /if it posts. I called National City and spoke to two different CSR's - one told me that it will drop off tonight and one told me that it should not have even posted at all. WTF? Anyone had this happen to them before? Anyone?

I would say thats an issue with your bank. Is the check for the exact amount you told the bank, although I'm not sure that would matter for a check they wouod just need the check number I guess. I would also think there is a pretty good chance it will drop off tonight and not post. If it does post then it would be your banks error and they should refund any NSF fees.

It's for the exact amount, when I placed the stop pay the man even stopped any ach debits of the same amount. I asked them at the time, could the pdl storefront send multiple debits through or change the check number and he said absolutely not. I don't think it should have hit my account at all but I am worried and I am going to really pissed if I have to go to the bank in the morning and haggle with them over this. Another day in the life of me, I guess.

now two more CSR's have told me that is exactly what happens. it will be in pending and then drop off tonight. nice. I wish they would have told me that when I set this up so I wouldn't have freaked out. I won't rest at all tonight until I know for sure this thing is going away.
