Have any of these PDLs disregarded your ACH revocation?

I called my bank to see how long it would take to close my account, so I could decide whether to go first thing before I go into work tomorrow, or on my lunch hour. The CS rep tells me that I can't close my account because there are still two items holding (not PDLs, but items I forgot about when I was making a mental note of anything that was pending). She tells me that the earliest I can close my account is Tuesday!

After explaining the situation to her, she said I could place a stop payment ($30 each!). Here’s the kicker…even if I place the SP, because it’s not at least 3 days beforehand, THEY CAN’T GUARANTEE THE STOP PAYMENT WILL BE EFFECTIVE.

All week I’m anticipating payday so a) my account will go back into the positive and, b) I can close my account and rest easier, and they’re telling me that despite a SP it may still not prevent anything from hitting my account?
I’m going into the branch before I get to work to talk to someone in person and lay everything on the table. I’ve had a long relationship with this bank and how they handle this will definitely be a factor in deciding whether or not to maintain it.
That said, has anyone had the experience of having their ACH revocation totally ignored and debits made from the account anyway by the following PDLs?
Ameriloan
USFastCash
500FastCash
1000OvernightCash
Kenwood Services
Summit Group
Now I have to hope and pray that these companies at least respect my WRITTEN revocation, and judging from what I’ve read here---I may not have much hope.

Yep, they think they are above the law, I'm sorry, but you really should read the thread about how to deal with illegal lenders, there is a wealth of information there. Revoking unlicensed lenders rights to debit your account is only a formality for the banks. The only way to stop these lenders is to close your account.

Sadly, A stop payment will not help. These illegal lenders have many different names, and once they see that they can not get your money due to a stop payment, they will just use another name/and/or change the dollar amount.
The only way is to close the account, If you close it be sure your bank will not reopen for any ach withdrawal

This is true.

I've read the thread and did everything except close my account, and I stated in previous posts why I couldn't do that before tomorrow. I was certain I could close it tomorrow 1st thing. I'm hoping that talking to someone in person will give me the resolution I'm looking for.
Thanks.

I dealt with two of the above companies but I closed my account so they couldn't get at it.I bank at CHARTER ONE and they said they couldn't guarantee that even if I closed it that they might still get into it. I personally had to go to two branches until I found someone who could put a hard hold on it-and that seems to have worked.Good Luck!

This morning, I sat down with a very nice (and very good-looking) bank official who didn’t act like I was speaking a different language when I was explaining my PDL dilemma (unlike the phone reps I spoke to).
Because I still have two transactions pending, the official put what they call a ‘restraint’ on my account, which restricts any and all debits. Basically my account is on deposit-only status; no debits are allowed unless I’m there in person to authorize it. Also, the official noted his name as the individual to notify should any debit attempts occur, and he in turn would notify me. Once the two pending transactions clear, I can close this account.
I did elect to open a new checking account at the same bank, because I want to maintain my relationship with them. The bank official assured me that the new account would not be compromised as long the PDLs didn’t have the information. I'll be keeping a close eye on it.
I’ll have to personally go into the branch to get money until I get my new ATM card—and I got a freakin’ parking ticket..arghh…but those are minor inconveniences I’ll gladly endure if it means the PDLs no longer have easy access to my account.
Glad to hear the banking rep is willing to work with you, a lot
Glad to hear the banking rep is willing to work with you, a lot of people don't have such luck. It was easy for me as well because I worked at the bank. Because I was not in a position to close my account as well Ameriloan and USfastcash both tried to pass a computer generated check through my account, with the signature line stating "No Signature Needed"...yeah right, that didn't work.

Really? Unbelievable! I've had a couple of try to debit my account despite the ACH revocation but my account is frozen. Oh well.
