I have defaulted on a storefront PDL. Of course theys aid they cannot accept payment for less than the amount of a check I had written. Well I have another 15 days to come up with the full amount before either being sent to a 3rd party collection agency or have legal charges put against me. I'm sure that means they will take me to Civil Court and garnish my wages --- which would be bad. My question is --- I am in Ohio ---- the storefront manager said they don't mess around with these situations and they will even send somebody to my place of employment. is that legal? I do know that if they come to my employement or garnish my wages that my employwer will not tolerate it and I will be fired.

What should I do?

What is the company name you had a loan through? A lot of times they use this stuff to scare you. They can not take you to court overnight and by the time they do have a date you could have the money then. A collection agency usually takes payments. I had a few storefront pdl's and been making monthly payments to the collection agencies.

Well ---- there are actually 2 companies --- I actually got in trouble having several out at a time and it just all snowballed. I have been making EPPs on 3 and I just couldn't do all of them and also be able to afford gas to go to work / eat and pay my utilities and mortgage.

Any way --- one is Cashland and the other is Purpose Money also called Valued Services LLC (I think).

Thanks for any help you have.

I have read on here where Cashland has sued a few members of this fourm. I had a loan with Cashland for $345 and they sent me to a collection agency called PRS. They ended up transfering my file back to Cashland and they (Cashland) allowed me to make 2 payments to clear it up.

I have never dealt with the second company so I can't tell you anything about them.

Your experience may be different with them. I had the loans in Franklin County and every district may have different rules.
