Please Help!
I live in PA, storefront cashing is prohibited but I am unsure of the internet.com company law. I have tried to work out lower payments w/ some lenders but was not successful. I called my credit union and was told they could not put a stop on a ACH withdrawl transaction, that the Company had to do it. I really dont want to change my credit union, and close my account. I thought about changing my direct deposit to another account. Any ideas?

500FastCash borrowed 300 paid 360
WebPayday Id 400 500
UnitedCashLoans 300 180
CashNetUsa 500 375
EDOLLARS DIRECT 250 75

Any insight about the next step re the PA regulations I'd really appreciate, and what to do next.

You can change your direct deposit to another account, but if you don't close the account that the ACH transactions are coming out of and they continue to hit, even though you aren't having money deposited, you are going to go overdrawn and that's a potential mess waiting to happen.

What about closing your account with the credit union and opening a new one with them? I know some banks are more than happy to do that if you advise that you are dealing with unauthorized access to your accounts, are worried that your account information was compromised online, etc.

Once you've closed your account, send out letters to the payday lenders via certified mail/return receipt requested and for the ones that you've paid the principal on, advise that you want the account marked as "paid in full" and that they are in violation of your states small loan lending laws, etc. State that you are prepared to file a complaint with your state's attorney general and the BBB. Also, put in writing with your letters that you hereby revoke any voluntary wage assignment , as some will try to send docs through to your payroll dept. to get your wages garnished. The wage garnishment request isn't legit, but some big payroll depts. don't know this and could honor the wage garnishment request.

Becky, also forgot to mention... for the loans that you have not yet paid back the principal, offer a payment arrangement that you can afford to be made with money orders.

Some of these payday lenders will tell you that they cannot accept money orders and want you to pay with a debit/credit card or ACH. This just gives them access again to take unauthorized money from your account. They will also suggest that you wire them the payment via Western Union or MoneyGram. This is costly and unnecessary. Send the money orders regardless.

I have experience with 500fastcash and unitedcashloans. They are both a part of MTE and can be a huge pain in the butt to deal with. Stick to your guns when you are making arrangements with them and make sure that all correspondence is done in writing via email or usps. Google all of the pdls on here and see what others have experienced and what worked for them. I, personally ended up settling with both of the companies. 500fashcash I was able to settle for the legal amount. I settled for more than I should have with ucl because I wanted them off of my back. Just stick to your guns. As long as you pay them the legal amount then you should be fine.

Becky, before closing you account it is important to read the sticky at the top of the forum. some banks will force open closed accounts to allow ach debits to go thru. If this is the case with your bank, then you will just accrue many many fees. Also it is suggested if you do close your account , open another account in a completely unrelated bank to assure safety. Some banks will link accounts, and that is not what you want to happen. You need to be sure of all the facts before you close your account.
