I had 10 PDL's in early May 2010. I followed the advice on this forum and now I have NONE. All my PDL's were illegal. I closed my bank account and sent them all letters based on what I found on here. A few I faxed every time they called me. I also attached my state laws (PDL's are illegal in my state). I received PIF letters from a few of them. It took about a week before the calls from these people started - a few called 3 - 5 times a day at work. They all threatened court action, attaching my pay etc. But I had sent my payroll person an email revoking my voluntary wage assignment so I didn't worry about them. I would have been totally freaked out if I hadn't found this forum. They can do nothing to you but threaten you if they are illegal. Payday Loan yes was the worse! They spoke to my boss and everything. At first I talked to the ignorant people at PDL yes but after a few of these calls I never talked to them again. After about 2 months they stopped calling. I know they will start up again but I will not talk to them.
The advice I have is follow the advice these great people on here have given all of us. They are right on target with it. Be ready for the phone calls - it does get a bit stressful but not nearly as stressful as having my whole paycheck go to paying illegal PDLs. And the final bit of advice I have is NEVER GET ANOTHER PDL.
