I live in Illinois and I have 4 internet PDL's. I believe in Illinois you have to be licensed and I do not think any of them are. I tried to look it up through Illinois website and did not find them listed. However there is always the possibility of error. The companies are Sure Advance of which I have already paid $650 more than my loan amount, United cash advance of which I have paid $135 on a $150 loan. Integrity advance I have paid $270 on a $300 loan. 500 fast cash I have paid $180 on a $200 loan. What do I do? I have already stopped them from taking anymore money from me but I would really like this resolved. I have looked into a PDL debt relief program but I have read stories about their being rip offs.

None of the PDL lenders are legal in your state. File cases against them with your states' AG and the BBB. Close your bank account if you want to protect your money from being looted by these illegal lenders.

You can deal with these PDL companies and see them through. No need to take the help of any debt relief program.

Follow the advice in this thread. First step, close your account. Second, file complaints. Third, send out your illegal lender letters and revoke ACH authorization and wage assignment and ask for a refund of overpayments. You are only required to repay the prinicpal amount borrowed.

Unregistered, For illegal internet payday lenders you only have to pay back the principle amount of the loan. You need to contact those that you still owe money to and get a mailing address. Search the names on this forum and you'll probably come up with the addresses you need. For sure advance you need to send them a demand letter for a refund of the amount paid over and above the principle. Be sure to keep all of your contact with these companies, via email, fax or mail. You will need a paper trail for your records.

Hi,
If you have signed the agreement, you are required to pay your debt. Do you go through life thinking that you get everything for free?

I have had several defaulted loans over the past month in Illinois. All of the defaultees were picked up at work by the county sheriffs and taken to jail. I suggest you pay your loans if you don't want to be in the same predicament.

UnitedCashLoans PR, sounds like you DO work for a PDL! The people here aren't saying they don't want to pay their debts, they want help in getting out of the PDL trap - a BIG difference. People aren't taken to jail for non-payment of PDLs and if you DO work for United Cash Loans, seeing as they're illegal everywhere, it's for sure that NOBODY is going to jail for not paying your illegal loans. (If your company is in fact legal, why do you need to hide behind a bogus address on Indian land in Oklahoma?) Any first year business law student should know that if a contract is illegal to begin with, it's not binding!

I have blocked access to my accounts and closed one. I have also emailed the letter to the lenders and have not heard back from them. I sent them late Sunday night, 11/27/10. Still no reply. I think they might be trying to call. thanks for all your responses and advice.
To the jerk from UCL, if you are with this so called company, Fool me once shame on you, fooling me twice isn't going to happen. There will be no sheriffs stopping by for me! Oh and here is a thought; Reply to the letters if you wish to collect the remaining principal of the loan. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face! i need a real address!
