I live in Maine, and have overpaid this loan to the amount of almost 7k - yet, Cash Call is an approved lender in the State of Maine...which I am sure is for their mortgage side of the house. However, I am getting ready to send my letter to them and want to make sure I have my facts straight.

This is something entirely new for me. I am coming across this situation for the first time. Things are still pretty positive given the fact that WS, who is servicing/collecting the loan repayments, are not licensed to do such things in your state (this part I am kind of sketchy on. The loan may be legitimate but the collectors are not. Just keep tracking your credit report.

Your loan is still being serviced by cashcall. Western sky is a front; they don't have the infrastructure to independently service loans. And just because CC is a mortgage lender doesn't mean they are legal to do personal loans. This is all that is relevant : 18% is the usury rate in Maine
