Wow..it was amazing to find this site. I have 3 payday loans...all are current

Loan Pt USA took out for 300 paid 600...balance is 150
EPayday Loan took out for 300 paid 550..balance is 150
Quickest Cash Advance took out for 300..paid 500 balance is 200

i have spent all morning reading posts...i already emailed my bank to see about switching checking accounts and the process involved to make sure they wouldnt be linked in any way. i am at work until 530 and dont want everyone in the office to hear the conversation so i just emailed them. i think i have overpaid all of these and i think they are illegal anyways. i should send letters to all asking for Paid in Full requests since they are illegal and I have overpaid???? After I switch my account of course...the one is MTE Financial though (Quickest)..and I am worried about them harrassing me at work..i work in an office and answer my own phone and that is the number they have...but it is embarassing. I can pay every week like I have been...but it would be nice to have my entire paycheck to myself and not pay anymore than I have to. Any suggestions?

thanks

Hi, new guy! :D You have overpaid all of your pdls. You don't owe them a thing. They should actually refund you; however, they most likely won't. You're on the right track. You need to close your bank account that the pdls have access to. If you close the account, make sure it can not be forced back open. If they can't assure you of this, put a hard debit block on it. You don't want the pdls to debit it any further. Can you get your bank account taken care of & then we can get you a letter to use as a guide to send these people?

Hi there newguyohio, oh no, you aren't alone! Follow Cannr's advice and you should be fine. There is one more thing I would like to add though, please please please file complaints with; The Ohio Attorney General, The Federal Trade Commission, the BBB and the Dept Of Finance. All the links are in my signature for Ohio. Make sure you let them know how these Internet pdl's over charged you! The more people that complain, the better the chances of stopping these pdl companies from sucking the life out of us! THANKS!!

so the bank emailed me back saying that if i wrote the payday loan companies checks...i am legally bound to pay them back. i replied that i didn't write them checks per say...however, i understand what they were saying. i also stated that the loan companies i used were illegal in my state and i wanted to close my account and make sure that there is no way it can be forced open by new ACH debits and i want a completely new account not linked in any way to my old account....waiting on a response. looks like i will be stuck paying the one that will come out of my checking account this friday...

newguyohio, the payment that's coming out this Friday (tomorrow?), if I were you, I would go into the bank and ask for the Branch Manager, tell her/him that you want to fill out a form to stop ANY debits by that particular company. Make sure you don't specify a certain amount you are revoking the debit on, give them a range instead, ei., I revoke any debits from company XXX for the amount of $100 - 1000.00, or somewhere between the amount you suspect they will debit. It's worth a try!

newguy, let us know how they respond via email. Because actually, as shazz stated, speaking to the branch manager is the best route to take. If you're able to do this, you can have that block put on now. You need to block everything. These pdls will change names, dates, amounts, send through electronic checks, etc. to get money out of your account. Please keep us updated as to what's going on.

thats just it...i work everyday from 7 to 530 and the bank closes at 5 here. that is why i contacted them via email. i know it is a bad excuse..but the girl i work with is on maternity leave so there is no way i can leave early. i dont want to call in front of everyone else in the office...its kinda embarassing. i just have one coming out on friday...$95...$50 downpayment and $45 refinance fee. Maybe I can call on my lunch break...but the last time I tried the other day the manager was on luch as well. And I wasnt sure if they would do it over the phone. I signed up for my checking account online...so I really dont have a branch i use...i do everything online...but there are a few here around me.

so...the bank never emailed me back so i went in yesterday to talk to the manager. they were not helpful at all. they said that i had time to return the money after the fact and if i did not want the loans...i shouldve given the money back. i called customer service...they told me i had to deal with the bank...ugh. i asked the manager for the ach processors and they said they would not give me that information...i would have to deal with the payday loan people one on one. not sure what to do now...i cant the the ach processor information. i could probably pay them all off with about $600 which is what i will probably do...but i have already paid over $1400 for $900 in loans...kinda stuck.

Call Intercept EFT (1-800-378-3328) and ACH Commerce (1-800-724-8780) yourself. Ask them if they process for your individual PDLs. If they do, tell them that you have revoked debit authorizations but they continue to try and debit your account. Ask your bank for the originator on the funds. Call the banks as well. Send an email to these yahoos telling them that you have contacted their processors and their banks. If they can't move funds, they ain't going nowhere. Good luck.

thanks...i will try that..i already asked the bank for the information on the ach processors and they said i would have to talk to the individual loan companies. has anyone been successful with getting PIF letters from any of these "companies?" from what i have read, all of mine are pretty bad...i have overpaid on all.
