The cycle needs to stop.
I've paid what I owe and I don't feel legally obligated to be hunted down for more.

leafsfan, most of us have been thru the pdl trap and i am still in the pdl trap. I have also put my family in financial jeopardy and even been late on my mortgage 3 months because of this. Don't feel bad we all make mistakes and learn from mistakes. I had 16 pdls and i am down to 11 thanks to all my friends in this forum follow all the advise you will be receiving here, trust me you will have a new life again. I am assuming that you did close your bank account and opened a new one. If you have'nt that is your first step and make sure you open a new account in a different bank that way they can't force open your account. If you please would it is important that you list all your pdl companies along with how much you have borrowed and how much you have paid so far. Also what state you live in, and you will get lots of help from all of us. Be patient and you will see everything is going to work out for you.

Before we can give leaf ANY advice regarding his/her bank account, we need WAY more information.
leaf, if you would like, we can help you here. However, in order to go by state laws and facts, we need some information from you. Could you please tell us what state you reside in so that we can look at your state pdl law. Then list each pld name, the amount borrowed (principle only) and how much you have paid back (total-do not break it down-just the total paid so far). Also, distinguish if they are store front pdls or internet pdls. Once we have this information, we can check your state law and the pdls to see if they are even licensed. We can help you here! :D

Katelyn-There are actually some states out there in which a consumer can be subject to prosecution if a PDL payment is returned for closed account.
Lets just tread lightly until we can confirm the state :)
