Yes, this was what I responded to a couple of early times on in this thread about the bank. I went back and it took me reading it over several times to get the jist of what gave me the impression that they would not close the account? I had to explain to my bank that these fees were being made, for the most part by illegal companies, not even licensed to lend anywhere, who charged rates above the state law and that I had not known this until I sought the *counseling* of this site. She agreed with me.

first off this is steve im having problems logging

well got a call from national payday yesterday they questioned why my account was closed i told them a certified letter was on the way explaing everything and also told them i still owe them 90 dollars and im want to pay it but im willing to pay it via usps money so i have a way to track payment and this is the way i was advised to pay by legal counsel, she then asked what the letter said so i read it to her (got a copy saved on my cell phone) she appoligized said it was an oversite by the person that approved my loans that they should not have made the loan to me and that upon receipt of my letter and review by their legal department i will receive a letter on how to make payment for the final 90 of my loan.
also got calls from eastside lenders they refused to give me their license number they told me they were licensed in del. but i cannot find any record of it then they told me my local law enforcement will be notified and i will be arrested at my job or at church.
amriloan also called but i was busy at work so i couldnt answer they left a very nasty message saying
" if you do not contact ameriloan with in 48 hours a warrent will be issued for you arrest for check fraud. all we did was help you in you time of need and this is how you repay us contact mark at 1866....... have a nice day and drive safely" the message was a little scary so i have a regular customer where iwork that is a police officer and he said it was all bs but he would constitute the message as a threat . i checked the usps tracking site and 3 of the six compinies have received their letters thanks to you guys i know my rights and my states laws i can deal with the annoying phone calls and learned my company does not honor wage assiment not issued by through a court judgement sorry for the long post but yeaterday was very intweresting id figure id give all of the people that helped me a update

just got a very annoying message from onestep cash saying " mr XXXXX what you did is fraud our legal deparment is already taking steps to repo your automobile and issue a warent for you arrest. you should be wary of things you read on the internet we beleave the site you received this info from is a scam by a debt consolidation company they tell you to follow these instruction so that you get your self into so much trouble you have no choice to use their service which cannot help you because you signed a contract. please contact us within 24 hours to stop any further action."
i know none of this is true but i cant beleave how ruthless these people are but what i am curious about is how did they know i got help and info from the internet

steve, I can't believe how many of your pdls are feeding you such b.s. Just amazing! These people aren't even licensed to lend and they are threatening you with arrest, car repo, etc. Unbelievable! As far as Eastside Lenders goes, PLEASE!! They keep insisting they are licensed in Delaware. Okay, maybe in their dream land. And to threaten you like that? I haven't run across them doing that before; however, maybe they've changed their tactics. Steve, just as long as you know that this is all b.s., you're fine. Do not believe all this stuff, like goudah and everyone has said. I can't believe these people. :x

steve, the government agencies aren't going to refuse your letters. Is that what you mean? They are going to take your complaints and contact these companies on your behalf. They are working with you. As far as ameriloan is concerned, paul has it right on. They are NOT licensed. And their illegal threats just goes to show you that they are certainly NOT a legit business. No, they are not licensed. No, the police are not going to come for you. As a matter of fact, I'm waiting for the day the police go knocking on THEIR door!

Oh, okay! Just make sure you keep records that you sent it and it was refused. You can include that fact in your complaints filed. I had many letters come back to me that I had sent to pdls stating "moved/left no address/no such address", etc. I made sure I included that in my complaints. It shows you that they are obviously trying to dodge you!

Also, as I'm thinking here, did you email/fax the letter to Geneva Roth? If not, do it. If you have an email or fax or both for them, send it to them that way. If you email it, put a "read receipt" request on the email so you'll know that they read it. If you fax it, make sure to print out the confirmation page showing that it went through.

Oh, steve. Let the games begin! I can't begin to tell you the games I had (and others) with Eastside Lenders. Holy crap! They are a joke. They can stick it. They keep hanging up on you. Nice. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that you are recording all of this. Awesome move! Now Eastside will be a thorn in your side for awhile. They have a hard time giving up. They will argue with your state AG. (God love them). They will eventually turn you over to "collections" that goes by a different name; however, it is still "them". They will insist until they die that your laws don't apply to them. Blah, blah, blah. Keep emailing the crap out of them. They sooooo love that. And, be sure to ask them exactly what name they are operating under legally and to provide you with their license number showing they are legal to lend to you. They sooo love that, too! As far as your "fraud department" call from PaycheckToday, all I can do is laugh! "Fraud department". My God. All my MTE d/b/a's turned me over to their "fraud department". Fraud department? These guys aren't legal to lend in any state in the US. Hello! Tell them to go for it. Send you to the "fraud department". Tell them you would be interested in seeing who is committing "fraud"!

ok here is a letter i got from one step cash

OneStep Cash is in receipt of the form letter you filled out. In an effort to come to some kind of settlement to the terms and conditions you agreed upon when you first took out the loan in January, we are willing to waive all remaining fees going forward and only request that the original principal borrowed of $300. We can break this payment into three easy payments to help spread it out over your next three pay periods if you would like.

Since we are licensed in a state that allows us to charge the rate we charge and we do not have a physical location in the state of Tennessee, this transaction has not taken place in your state. Therefore, the full amount is still owed and the email that you sent to OneStep Cash can be construed as a form of extortion.

???????Extortion, outwresting, or exaction is a criminal offense, which occurs when a person either unlawfully obtains money, property or services from a person, entity, or institution through coercion or intimidation or threatens a person, entity, or institution with physical or reputational harm unless he is paid money or property???????.

Hopefully, we will hear from your shortly with a remedy that is acceptable to both OneStep Cash and yourself. We are sorry for the confusion and hope we can come to an amenable solution.

i have closed my account my account and geneva roth did contact me after i sent them a copy of the certified letter they refused via email the said they will honor my c and d letter they said they will honor it untill the matter is sent to their fraud dept and legal action is taken
i know this is bs beacuse they are not licensed anywhere. i have explained everything to my boss and he know what to do if people call hang up right away.
my payroll deptment informed that they do not honor any wage garnaishment not issued through the court in the state of which i reside. the calls are annoying but i can handle it.
this is the first month in a very long time i was able to pay my bills on time and have a full fridge now my family wont have to suffer due to my mistakes ill get through this and i know it will take time

Steve I can not tell you how it chokes me up to hear you paid your bills on time and have food on the table...if the truth be known tht is probably why most of us got into this mess...to pay our bills on time and feed our family. Isn't it a sad state of affairs? Like going to the Dr. to get well and catching something worse while you are there?
