Store Front Loans
Date: Tue, 12/29/2009 - 07:58
I know the store front ones are legal, so my question is:
Can I contact them in writing to agree to pay off the loan, but only doing so in payments via money order, sent in, because of the way they treat people?
I figured if they attempted to take me to court or anything, it would at least be proof I was trying to pay them off? I cannot afford much at this time, but I will definitely make payments, I just dont want to go in and talk to these girls anymore, they are so hateful.
If you haven't defaulted on them yet click the link below to see
If you haven't defaulted on them yet click the link below to see if they are members of the CFSA (Community Financial Services Association of America),

If they are members, request an EPP, click the link below to read about the EPP, number 11.

If you have already defaulted, I would send them a letter with your intentions to pay them back, I wouldn't commit to any specific amount but let them know you will send them payments as often as you can, also include a good faith payment with your letter. Send it certified mail return receipt requested, that is very important because it will be the only way you will be able to prove they received any such letter from you. Keep copies of all correspondence sent and received. By the time this goes to court you should have the loan close to being paid off, and it will definitely look better on you in court if you are making an effort!
