Texas Pay Day Loan Trap

So that just means that they are legally operating in the state of Texas ..right? So what is my recourse, can I default and hope to work out a pay plan with them? Am I protected from them contacting my employer or references? I want to pay off the loans, I need breathing room just to take care of my family. This has become a living nightmare!! Help!!!!

Guest that is incorrect information. Many PDLs in Texas are registered as a CSO. ACE is totally LEGAL! They can sue you and take you to court over the balance of the loan. Please be careful with the information you post.
titan4him you can try contacting ACE and the others and request an Extended Payment Plan to repay your loan. This breaks down the balance of your loan into 4 equal payments. This is offered once a year. You must request this before your loan comes due. Best of luck!

Maybe so, but LEGAL lenders have that option. I dont know where you are getting your information, but a LEGAL lender can sue and get a judgement against you. Depending on the balance of your loan it may be worth their while. As long as members are aware that possibility is out there. We do not want to mislead anyone.
Now as far as trying to work out a payment plan with ACE, that depends on the status of your account. If you have defaulted it may be a little harder to work with them. Or maybe it just depends on that branch, I personally have seen it work both ways. I suggest going over their heads and calling the corprorate office directly it is worth a shot. Either way you will end up paying them or a third party collection company.
