It sounds like another made up scary name for a pdl collector, but it would be great if you would provide the information that Jasgal requested, that will help us, help you.

Or it could be Everest PDL company.

i received a call from them also and they told me the same thing. I have had payday loans in the past.

Ahhh, Payday Loan Yes! That is who this company is collecting for. They said they have a person coming to serve me a summons. They are out of Chandler AZ.

I just got a call from BAM GROUP. they left me a message stating that they want to work out some deal with me since its tax season. They can "Settle", otherwise they will have to take "LEGAL ACTION" against me for writing bad checks? First of all, I NEVER wrote any bad checks. And its a payday loan. I paid it back and it should have been done. A couple weeks later, it deposited funds BACK into my acct w/out me requesting it. Unfortunately, my balance was in the red so it absorbed it. I didn't check this acct and didn't even know for months. Eventually the bank closed my acct for no activity. Then I get calls from BAM Group 2 years later. Can they really come after me? I didn't know. Or are these just collection threats?

so can they actually do this?
Have they gone to anyones place of employment or is it a scare tactic?

That's funny, I've had them same problem with them as well, oh and before that, it was some guy named Michael from The Barr Group,(866-956-8595)that called. I also had some women stating she was a process server for the state of SC, she gave me the number 866-572-5759, which led me to The Bam Group. They said that I was receiving a summons to go to court for 'writing bad checks' and some other 'criminal' charge. At first I didn't know what to think, so I came here to get some advice. Its a scare tactic they apparantley use. Honestly, I didn't think they would go that far, lol.

They are associated with Payday-loan-yes, by the way;) Look them up in the forums, and you will find all kinds of info on them, they are brutal!

Quick note: I just tried calling the number to the Barr Group, apparantley they changed the name to the Bam Group! Ha! I thought it was just a different agency, LOL.

This people did the same thing to me saying they were coming out to serve me papers, i still don't know which payday loan they are talking about. please help me, i've actually made 2 small payments, because they threatened to come to my job. Are they for real? I want set up anything directly from my bank but I've got a pre-paid card i put a little on and i still haven't received one letter, email or anything from these people. I know i have a payday loan in default. one cay, they actually put me on hold like they were really talking to lawyers on the other line, to stop my summons and re-do my agreement, i tried to pay like $25 they came bck on the line saying no the lawyers want more. they've left a message on my job phone just now..HELP!!!

Don't sweat these jokers. I got the same call and was freaked so I turned it over to my lawyer who's representing me in another FDCPA case. He looked into them and they are a total scam. Please ignore their calls. Unfortunately, since I can't get an address from them I can't go after them, but again- TOTAL SCAM.

agreed, if they were going to serve papers, they would just do it, they would not give you a warning call. debts are a civil matter anyway, though they would not step foot in a court room, they have no legal leg to stand on.

Got a call from this number this morning. On a unlisted unpublished number that I have NEVER given out. Bill Turner called wanting my grandmother he gave that same number and it go's to the ban group he then called my main line number and even went so far as to say "I was faxed a copy of a summons to serve for charges" then he disconected the call No numner on caller id except 000-0000. My grandmother had a payday loan after my grandfather died to help with cost's. It was a storefront and she said it was paid off as I drove her there. After I talked to them a second thime the manager I got said the birthday on that account was Sept. 27, 1981 for a 28 year old and my grandmother is 89? Now that is funny. I was told that even if it is a storefront they can't file criminal charges against you it was in 2007 and it was turned over to a collection agency. My grandmother is freaked and the fact that her sister passed away yesterday dosen't help her. We are in Florida.
