Just wanted to let you guys know I defaulted on a loan for around 1100 at the cash store.I just got a letter in the mail from a collection agency,so it looks like the cash store doesn't take legal action if you default,or at least in my case.

Was it from Alliance Asset Management? I have asked them many times to send me something in the mail. They say they have but I never get anything. They just call everyday 3 or 4 times.

What if they never sent the collection letter? They say they did but they give me varying dates of when they sent it.

if it is ALLIANCE ASSET then beware of anything they send you.they will send bogus documents.they did with me in regards to my GECC (cash direct express loan).a totally false loan contract(i had the original in my files).i would send the DV and C&D letters CMRRR.then wait to see what they come up with.

I am taking the CA out of the loop and dealing with the original creditor. Why would I want to pay these rude morons?

Collectors, as an industry, get a bad rap. This CA that is mentioned, I know nothing about and have only heard what I've read on here. As for paying them directly, it is due to the the fact that they now have the debt by either purchasing it or on "consignment". If you send the payment to the OC, that is atleast one more person that you are allowing to touch the payment and mess something up. Keep the payments you send in the "straightest" line to the collector. You can also have a better record of payment to the CA by keeping a copy of the money order and mailing the payment Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. If you send this to the Cash Store, you have no record of it being sent to CA.

I worked there at the home office.

Don't pay it. They will sell the debt to collectors that will try to get it and after a time, they will leave it alone. They do not use it against you on your credit report. You can't borrow from them again, but it will never hurt you except you can get up to 3 phone calls per day.

PDL Owner, It is within my rights to remove the CA from the equation. I have done so and have paid the loan off to The Cash Store. So, you're wrong again like so many of you're other posts on here.

PB,

Where did I state that it was not your right? I simply stated that since a CA had your account, you should send the payment to them. This was in order for you to have accurate records of when and how much you paid.

I guess that was incorrect in your book...

Oh well, congratulations on the PIF

to also answer PB.not if the pdl is internet and sold the debt.only if it is an assigned CA.also PDLowner is a great provider of info from the actual pdl side.he wasn't wrong here and he's not wrong that much at all.just because he is a pdlowner doesn't mean a thing.he doesn't attack and has provided good info,so please keep your biases in check.

I didn't mean to offend or disrespect anyone and I was probably a little harsh with my comment. My apologies PDL.

The cash store called me and said that if I didnt pay the finance charges by friday it "would go to legal", whatever that means. I told them that if they would wait until Monday after I get paid, I'd pay the entire loan off, but they said no good. Any thoughts?

Pay it Monday and be done with them. I am sure you will not be sued by their "legal" dept by then...LOL  If they refuse payment call their corporate office. Best of Luck!

Guest Texas is a non garnishment state. I am not sure what their "collections" dept is but I am sure they will pursue the debt untill it is paid off. However if you reside in TX, your wages cannot be garnished, but they can get a judgment to levy your bank account I am sure. Please read below for more information.

MAXIMUM INTEREST RATE:

Legal: 6% with agreement; up to 18% without

I have two loans right now

The Cash Store - $600.00 and
Speedy Cash - $300.00

Can I stop payment on the check that is on hold with the Cash store? What do I do then? I've had both these since Feb and have been paying every two weeks, some just the interest and sometimes with a little extra. How can I get the internet one Speedy Cash to not debit my bank card? I'm in Texas btw. Thanks for the help!
