Is Western Sky/cash call a payday lender or a installment loan? what sure what I can do about them I live in ohio
Thanks

They are an installment lender, and in my view THE hardest one to negotiate with. If your loan was originated through Western Sky and you are not in the state of California, you technically don't owe anything as the loan is only enforceable on the Sioux reservation in South Dakota. However, I would object to not paying them back anything, even though these people literally prey on the poor and destroy peoples' finances, not paying back a loan is just as immoral in my view. I took out a 2600 dollar loan with them a while ago through Western Sky. I made 2 monthly payments into it then had to close my bank account due to other payday loans. If you lived in California, CashCall could enforce the loan. However, in Ohio, CashCall does not operate (you can verify this on their website), they only service Western Sky loans. I would reach CashCall via email, give them your information, and send them one of our template letters and make them a payment offer. I settled my 2600 dollar loan for 1500 dollars and paid them 375 over 4 months (I had them draw from my debit card, there were no strange charges but once I was paid off all of my loans I did cancel my debit card and get a new one... I made a ton of rewards points too from my bank for all these huge charges LOL). You might have similiar luck or you might settle for less. Here is the email I used to initially reach them - custserve@cashcall.com --- after I sent in my shpeel about the AG's office and the NYS department of banking I was transferred to the email of a special resolutions team. I don't have that email anymore, but good luck in your pursuit. Remember, DO NOT GIVE UP. DO NOT take any calls from them. They will screw you over the phone. And most importantly, DO NOT let these loans go to outside collections agencies. They are a lot harder to negotiate with... I ended up accepting an offer for 153 dollars on an 100 dollar loan just because I could not handle the arguing with them anymore. In retrospect it was worth the extra 53 dollars. If I had let it hang and just called the lender, I'd only have paid 100 probably. The lenders will settle for a lot less than the collectors and that's a fact.
