Date: Mon, 05/23/2011 - 13:20
The letter says, "verification of employment is being requested. Please have the employee sign the bottom of this form." Then it has my name and address on it. It also had on it the following:
Dates of employment: ______________
Position: __________________
Salary Amount: ________________
Are employee wages currently being garnished?: Y/N ________
Next Scheduled Pay Period: _______________
Employee Signature: ________________
Supervisor Signature: _____________________
This letter was faxed to my employment and the payroll secretary got it and gave it to me. I told her it was a mistake and I took the letter. I do owe a few payday loans, so I know that one of the payday loans must have sold the debt to them. I live in New York and I know payday loans are illegal here. What action should I take, if any? Call the BBB? The AG office and file a compliant? It was embarrassing and I don't want this to happen again. Is it possible that they fax the same thing again in a few days if they don't hear from me?
Did you google the firm to see if they are real? That letter loo
