I am sort of a new member to the forum but have been reading all the great posts and wanted to ask for advice. I had 7 payday loans. I paid off 2, and hired Langhorne debt solutions to help me with the remaining 5. They settled 2 for me (CashNetUSA and Discount Advances). The settlement offer with CashNet USA was good, but I ended up paying way more to Discount Advances than I think I should have (knowing what I know now). It is my understanding that Payday Ok and Payday One are the same company, and even Langhorne Debt Solutions agreeed with me on that. I paid Payday One tons of money and couldn't understand why Langhorne couldn't work out a paid in full deal with both them and Payday Ok. Langhorne kept telling me to pay $500 to Payday One and Payday Ok would probably consider my account paid in full. Well I contacted Payday One and Payday Ok and requested that they forward me a copy of their license to conduct business in my state (Louisiana). I received a reply from Payday OK that my account was considered paid in full back in December 2007. Why did Langhorne not know this already? Now my question is how do I proceed with Payday One and Think Cash? Are they legal companies, and is Think Cash owned by the same company that owns Payday One and Payday Ok? Thanks in advance for the help!

Thanks for the reply! I have not heard anything from Payday One or Think Cash since requesting their licensing information. I did receive a letter from Langhorne debt solutions yesterday saying they would no longer be representing me due to my failure to settle my loans. The only one I refused to settle on their terms was Payday One, and that was simply because they wouldn't answer my questions! I feel as though I have been scammed! They waited until they received all the fees owed to them before informing me they would not be representing me.

"They are all owned by the first bank of deleware. If Payday ok, considered you PIF, you might want to check wiht Payday one too."
This is completely inaccurate information. Please check your facts when provding others with information they need, especially when the information you are providing is wrong.

I'm pretty sure that Payday One and Payday OK are sister companies as I have dealt with them before. Payday One is licensed in most of the U.S., I would venture to say they are most likely licensed in LA. CLICK HERE for the licensee data base to check yourself, if you still can't find an answer call (225) 925-4660 to find out for sure.
Payday OK usually operates and lends legally also, although they aren't licensed EVERYwhere in the U.S. yet, I suspect they will be eventually though.

I believe that "Think Cash" is an installment type of loan which would exempt them from the Payday lender laws.

I am currently using Langhorne. They have settled five of the seven so far. I know I paid more than I should have for several of them but a couple have been okay. They are very scattered brained when asking questions that is for sure. They have yet to send me a reference number for the one I am supposed to settle on friday and want the receipt as soon as I pay it. That is not always possible.

I am just starting with Langhorne because I owe six pay day loans for $4,100. I have my credit cards being paid off through Care One Credit and this is going beautifully. I am a bit worried because I am receiving all kinds of responses from the pay day loans that they don't deal with Langhorne. Should I stay with Langhorne? What other choices do I have?

You could do it yourself and there is a lot of free help available on these boards if you want to go that route. But from what I see here and on other sites payday lenders are a lot less professional then legitimate banks and loan companies and the collectors will pretty much say anything to get you to pay once they get you on the phone. Probably because they are mostly illegal and can't do anything except act like horses' you-know-whats to scare you into paying their ridiculous fees.

I contacted Langhorne, but did not finalize any contract. They kept calling and sending emails. Finally I sent emails and called that I knew internet PDL's were illegal in my state. As I had paid the principle, I owed them nothing. I advised Langhorne I filed complaints with the FDIC, State Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission. I got PIF on all. They were very surprised and had NO answer for my question of "why did you not do this" I suspect the answer is they are in bed with the PDL's and get kickbacks of every "settlement" they reach. The ones they settle cheap, they have no agreement with. Don't bother with Langhorne, do it yourself.

I recommend you find out if your lenders are licensed first, even though Langhorn may negotiate with them now and pay them off, there is no guarentee they won't come back later and say you still owe them, especially if they are unlicensed lenders. Basically, an unlicensed lenders cares about nothing except obtaining money, contracts or agreements do not mean anything to them. They are nothing more than criminals and will stop at nothing to take your money. It may be a useless cause to hire someone else to negotiate with these loan sharks, so please do your research and see if yours are licensed or unlicensed before you commit to Langhorn.

dont use them THEY ARE SCAMMERS THEY LEAD YOU TO BELIEVE THAT THE ONLY FEE YOU PAY THEM IS 100.00 . THE FEES THEY DEBIT FROM YOUR ACCOUNT THEY SAY GO INTO A SAVIGNS ACCOUNT, NOT TRUE, IT JUST PAYS THEIR FEES,
WHEN I FOUND THIS OUT I ASKED THEM WHAT STATE THEY WERE LOCATED IN SO THAT I CAN FILE A BBB REPORT AND REPORT THEM TO THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE AND THE STATE BOARD FOR LAWYERS THEIR REPLY BACK
PHILLIPINES
WOW WHAT A WAY FOR A PROFESSIONAL LAW FIRM OR A FIRM TO REPLY
