Wage Garnishment in NY?

This is probably a dumb question but im gonna ask it anyways. Can a payday loan company garnish wages if i live in NY? I did send the letters saying that i revoke anything i signed...but im just curious.

To be garnished, you must be
To be garnished, you must be sued first. Payday loans are illegal and the loan itself is null and void.
