Thank you for your email.
Please be aware that this is a St. Vincent company, St Vincent and the United States are both parties to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (G.A.T.T.), a treaty which specifically permits companies in one country to make consumer loans to citizens of the other.
Under the treaty, we are only obligated to follow the federal laws of the United States. We are not required to obtain state licenses and individual state laws do not apply since the federal laws adopting this treaty supersede any state's laws on the subject.
Also let us inform you that the last payment was recently processed and the payments are cleared within 3 business days; therefore, we need to wait for a notification from your Bank at this time. If we receive a default on this payment, our Recovery Department will contact you directly to set a payment arrangement.
Is this true? The original loan was for $1000. I have paid $1250 to date. They are saying I still owe $950. Am I obligated to pay this off?

I borrowed $1000 on 1/2/13. I have paid back $1200 as of March 8, 2013. They are saying I still owe $950. After filing a complaint with Attorney General and FTC, they attempted to withdraw $1178 from my checking account on 3/22/13. I stopped ACH and closed bank account. They keep calling me leaving messages telling me it's very important to return their call today. They just called me at work. I answered the phone, but told them I wasn't in and took a message. What should I do? This is making me very nervous!

Dear AdvanceMeToday.
Dear AdvanceMeToday.
Please do not start with the treaty crap! You know as well as I do that that the only laws that apply to me are the laws of the state of Pennsylvania. I am not going to argue with you....and I will not pay you a penny more. So do yourself a favor and mark my account as PAID IN FULL.

Now what should I do? Should I call them?
I looked at my account on
I looked at my account on -line. It says my account is past due. The principal balance is $950 and accrued finance charges are $309.43. They are saying pay in full on 3/28/13 is $1305.71! Is this going to keep adding up to more due? This is really making me nervous!
stay resolute
file AG,AND FTC complaints if you haven't done it already, and just hang up without a word when they call your work.let others know this is a scam.they want you to be nervous so don't be.
well
if you haven't given your payroll person a wage assignment revocation letter as outlined in soaplady's signature then do so right away.do that and laugh at their emails and messages.both are designed to get you on the phone so they can harrass, argue, and threaten.don't do it!btw PA is non-garnishment so they can't garnish even with a court order.your payroll person should know this, but the letter covers your back.
