I got a letter today from Delbert Services Demanding payment for a Western Sky loan. I still owe $363 on the loan which I can borrow from a relative if they would give me a payment in full. Cashcall denied this. Anyway, Delbert Services is licensed in MN, but Western Sky is not. What should I do. Please help.

It has been my experience that the first letter they send you is an over inflated amount so that when they send you the settlement offer it will appear they are doing you a favor and you are getting a bargain per se. I have over paid on the illegal loan by over $1,100, their first dunning letter stated I owe over $4,000 and they sent me a settlement offer for $1,277. Really, the only leverage they seem to have in collecting on these illegal loans is the fact that they take your credit report hostage and the CRAs are allowing it.

Is the $363 all the Delbert is asking for? if yes I would set up payment with them... if they are asking for more then NO!! I have recently received a letter from Delbert also but they are no were near what I owe, you can see my thread here...

Soap Lady - I'm not looking for an attorney in MN - I'm looking for victims of WS/CC in MN to help get in touch with an attorney that is working to file a lawsuit that he fully intends to be certified as a class action so that all of us victims can join in. He has offices all over the country, including South Dakota, and is very familiar with this scam. There is a specific reason he wants to start with MN victims and I am working to locate as many as I can and direct them over to him.
