I am hoping that someone here can help me out. I received a call from this number (770)-726-7222. The voicemail stated that the person on the phone was investigator frasier and that a complaint was sent to her office against me attached to my name and the last 4 of my social, and that it was under review. She said that "they" requested that she file with my county clerk office, and in order to remove my name and social I need to contact her back at this number before 5pm or she would move forward. After doing some research I found that the law office is Greenburg Wallace and Associates in Georgia...(I am in TX.) I also found this page about them(only under a different number)

http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-770-726-7610.

Does ANYONE happen to know anything about this company? Is it a scam? Apparently from what I have read, when people are calling them back, they are not telling them any information on where the debt is from, what company, etc....

Please please help, I'm really scared that there is a lawsuit against me now however I refuse to pay for anything until I have something in writing.

Caller: Greenburg Wallace and Associates
Number: 770-726-7610

Sounds like bullshit to me. 15 USC 1692g(a) says that they must provide you written information on the alleged debt within 5 days of contact.; 15 USC 1692e (5) says they can't claim to use legal remedies that they don't actually intend to use. You can check to see if you've actually been sued in TX here : http://www.courts.state.tx.us/searchable.asp

Wait a week or so and if nothing shows up in the mail and no cases have been filed against you, send them a certified letter calling them out on their bullshit.

You can call them back, but if you do keep in mind that you'll be talking to someone who is specializes at playing on people's fears. I mean look at the language they used:

the person refers to herself as "Investigator" Frasier. This is likely to get you to believe that she is an authority figure of some sort ("Investigator" sounds like the title of some sort of law enforcement agent).

The person makes it clear that you must call back by 5 pm that day or risk "something" being filed with the county clerk's office. This is likely to facilitate a sense of panic/urgency to keep you from thinking rationally.

I am in Ohio and I have received the same call from these people. I filed a complaint against them with my state Attourney generals office and with the Federal trade Commission because I believe this is a identity theft scam. I was advised not to give them any information.

I too received a same phone call - only - it was for a debt I incurred. They notified the person I had used as a reference and called them. They scared the pants off them too! I made arrangements for the debt to be paid and they said I would receive a notice as such. Guess what - no letter as of yet and it's been a month! I do believe it's a scam.:(

I also have a debt. I made payment arrangements 2 years ago. Never received anything in the mail. They just called me today and yelled and screamed at me and continued to call. My husband got on the phone and they told him he was a piece of Shit. I am making a complaint also. This is a scam I believe and I will do everything I can to put a stop to it.
