Need to Vent

I answer once (per round of calls) and tell them I am aware they are illegal and that there's no need for them to bother calling me anymore. Then, I don't answer again.

Ok I will try that method, thanks! I get extremely nervous talking to these illegals even though I know its a scam.

well you can try writing down any suspicious numbers that come up and google them.then you don't even give them a thought.worked for me.just don't answer if the number looks unfamiliar,or blocked.

well the calls today were calls I have gotten over the last few weeks and posted about. They are the same numbers. I was going to try to call them back but when you guys say not to divuldge any information when they verify the ss# do I??? I just want them to leave me alone!

Nope. Don't confirm anything for them. Just tell them that, unless they send you something in writing, you're done and then hang up.

I agree with the others; if you have caller ID and recognize the #, don't answer. If you do answer, once you hear it's "them," hang up. They can't argue with a dial tone! As for when they will stop calling? Hard to say, some keep calling and calling, others stop after a short time. This being income tax refund time, I'm betting people will receive a lot of PDL calls, making the "generous" offer to pay off the illegal PDLs with your tax refund check! ;)
