Need Urgent Help-they call my receptionist all day long.

You need to file a police report. I would share that report with your receptionist and tell her that you are a victim of fraud and attempted identity theft. She doesn't have to tell them that you don't work there, she can simply tell them that you've filed a police report and will not be taking their calls. They'll stop eventually.

I second what OhioGal1 says; tell your receptionist that you're a victim of financial fraud and that you'll be working with the authorities on the matter. (if she won't say you don't work there anymore, would she at least hang up on them if they call?)

I called the police and they came out and listened to all the calls. They have left voicemails stating they were "officer" so and so. He called the number back that they gave me today and told them that these were included in a previous chapter 13 and you are violating federal and state laws. He gave his name and police department. Although he said it probably won't do anything at least it was nice to have someone other then a female call them back.

My receptionist said that I could give her a copy and she will say to them when they call, "a police report has been filed and we will not accept your call.

Good for you! It's great you got a police officer to listen to the bogus calls. Here's hoping you won't be bothered anymore.

It is almost impossible to stop these calls. The authorities can't do much because they use throw away phones, call from different locations. etc. I've had these people call my phone and place of employment threatening my life. I've turned it over to the authorities but unfortunately they can't really do anything. I don't ever answer my home phone unless I know who it is, and at work I have a direct line that I don't answer when I see restricted, unknown caller or a phone number that looks like 000-000-6500. These people have taken my personal information and have been impersonating me, and I regret the day that I applied for a PDL.

I wonder how long they will be calling. Seriously 1, 2, 3 years from now. I can always change my home number but dang, nothing I can do about the switchboard at work.

They called 3 more times today. The switchboard stated that they researched the company and knew they were a scam and they will NEVER get through to me.

I just started getting these calls today, I never answer unknown calls, but my boss called me and told me that some guy was calling and stating that I needed to call them back or I was going to jail for fraud! They called my job at least 12 times today and my home just as much! I finally answered and pretended to be someone else and he gave me the name "Jack Smith" from the United Nations Law Dept and the number 585-502-7390 to call them back, I told them the person they wanted was out of town and would have her call them back, he said you need to give her this message right away or she will go to jail. Not even 2 minutes later they called back again I answered it and told them that I just got off the phone with the police and they were contacting the FBI because this is know scam. "jack" passed the phone to someone else a woman and she kept saying hello over and over acting like she couldn't hear me! So finally I got nasty with her said a few not nice things and then said I know you can hear me she replied yes I can hear you OOPPS! And hung up! That was about an hour ago and I haven't recieved anymore calls so far, so hopefully that works! Another thing I hear alot of people saying things about a pay day loan I never even applied for one!
