revoking ach debits

I have sent letters revoking any ACH debits from my account for PDL's. Will the PDL's still try to debit my acocunt even with the revocation? I am closign the acocunt also, but am worried they may still try.

As a warning to others, close, hard block or deposit only your accounts BEFORE sending the letters.
