So I found out that these people are illegally lending because I live in NY. So I took all the steps to protect myself from these people. Called the bank and closed the account, got identity theft protection and then reported EM to the FTC.

So I tried having the bank send the $200 back but they said that they couldn't. So I've called EM like 10 times and every time I call I just get a voice message. I left a message once, which they called back but I wasn't near my phone so they had left a message. So then I tried calling them but got the voice message again. I also have emailed them, using the template that was provided on here, like 10 times in the past week and they haven't responded to any of those messages either. So its like they can get a hold of you whenever they want, but you cant get a hold of them. Which I figure is because they just want more money out of me.

The loan isn't even due until next week but I just want to be done with this. I have the money all set to get a money order to send to them but I don't want to send it and then have it end up nowhere and then have them say that they never got it and say that I owe them money.

What should I do?? All I want to do is give them their money back and be done with it and never have to deal with this ever again. Just makes me regret ever taking out a PDL in the first place.

your bank can't return it.why?as long as it was deposited they can return it right back as unauthorized.di you see the manager for this as a regular teller can't/won't do that only the manager can.also have the manager block them from debiting.anyway that is how emerald operates.deposit without permission and not respond to emails,or calls.then when you default then hoo boy.just see the manager at your bank and get that returned.

I had just talked to the customer service rep over the phone and had them close the account out that way. So I'm guessing thats why they said they couldn't return it??

But the account is closed now so would I still be able to send the money back? And if not, if I just send a money order to these people, do you think they would take it and then mark the loan as paid in full or are they going to give me problems? I have filed a complaint with the BBB today and already filed a complaint with the FTC so I'm hoping that'll do something to solve this problem.

well since you closed that account yeah it would be difficult, but not impossible.go see the manager if the 200.00 is in the new account.they have to have info on where it came from and should be able to return it.just know emerald is not based in this country and are nasty.just know they can't a thing they threaten.just let us know when they call, and we can advise further from there.lastly yes see the manager anyway for as long as the 200.00 is in either account still it can and should be returned as unauthorized.

So I called the bank and after speaking to a rep, she transferred me over to her supervisor to help me better. So I told the guy everything and how I wanted to send the money back - which he said he could do. So I had them sent it back for me.

So I wrote EM another email that day, again using the template, stating that I had sent the money back and that's all I owed because it was the principle amount and all the other stuff about PDL's being illegal in NY and all of that. Also told them that because the money was sent back, I expected to receive a receipt/statement showing that the account was at a 0 balance and that it was now closed.

I have yet to hear a response from EM. I haven't gotten any phone calls which really surprised me because I was expecting to get tons once the money had got sent back to them. But there's been nothing at all. No emails, no phone calls. Nothing. Which I don't mind, but definitely doesn't put me at ease at all.

Also haven't heard anything back from the BBB either regarding the complaint I filed with them either. But I filed it last week so I'm giving it a couple more days then I'm going call them to see whats going on with it all.

But what now? Am I safe or should I still be worried? I would feel a whole lot better if I just got a statement saying that the account was closed so I know they won't try to mess with me in the future. I just have this bad feeling that down the road they're going to call me and claim that I still owe them money and then start harassing me.
