I have recently become unemployed, and have been looking into my finances. I recall a year ago getting a PDL to help in a pinch. What I did not realize, is that the company has not withdrawn the 200.00 balance, but instead has withdrawn $89.00 "fees" bi-weekly for a total of 25 withdrawls, or $2225.00. Is this legal? I live in the state of Kansas, and trying to figure this out is a headache! Any help will be greatly appreciated!

PDL's are legal in Kansas...and they are permitted to roll over the loan.

Call the Office of the State Bank Commissioner at the phone number listed on the link.

Yes, I do check my account on occasion, this was either the result of ignorance or laziness, I am sure. It has only been recently that i have worried about or scrutinized my account so thoroughly.

Basically, what I still would like to know, is if I have any actions I can take, or if I still owe them the $200.00 on top of the $2225.00 already paid to them?
